1950 – 1979

Founding of the company, transition from a glass container business to plastic container business

TAKEMOTO Co., Ltd. was originally founded in March 1950 in Taito-ku, Tokyo, as a glass bottle recycling company. The company opened its first “showroom” in Kappabashi market street during 1960. In the following years, the company transitioned from glass related business to plastic, aiming to expand the market for its signature product: “Standard bottles”.

Takemoto Yohki Co., Ltd. established on May 19

Storefront opened at Asakusa Kappabashi Dougu Street

First blow-molded plastic product launched

First injection-molded product launched

Ueno Sales Office opened

1979

New headquarters building established in Matsugaya, Taito-ku, headquarters moved

1980 – 1999

Business expansion, transitioning from trading company to manufacturer

Establishment of sales offices in Osaka and Fukuoka for domestic market expansion. After the establishment of a printing facility in Yoshikawa-machi, the company also initiated in-house production of plastic bottles, becoming a manufacturing firm. Its production capacity was later strengthened by the establishment of the Yuki Factory in Yuki, Ibaraki prefecture.

Osaka Sales Office established in Osaka

1984

Printing facility established at Yoshikawa-machi, Saitama prefecture (modern day Yoshikawa City)

1986

First injection blow-molding product available

1988

Fukuoka Sales Office established in Fukuoka

1989

Completion of the first stage of construction of Yuki Factory

1990

Completion of the second stage of construction of Yuki Factory

1993

Completion of the third stage of construction of Yuki Factory

1996

Tokai Sales Office established in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture

Shanghai Takemoto Packages Co., Ltd. established in China

1997

Jay Pla Factory established in Hokkaido

1998

Completion of the fourth stage of construction of Yuki Factory

1999

Kyoei-Plasco Co., Ltd. established

2000 – 2009

Strengthening Japanese domestic production capacity and initiating global expansion

Various new options such as printing, decoration, extrusion tubes, pumps, color pellets, and aluminum press molding are added as new offerings as a “Customized Bottle Factory”. New sales offices and production sites established in China, and a sales subsidiary founded in the U.S.A. opened the door to international markets.

2000

Tokai Sales Office relocated to Nagoya city and was renamed as Nagoya Sales Office

Merger with Uniprint Co., Ltd. leading to the establishment of the Yuki Print Plant

2003

Yoshikawa Factory established in Yoshikawa, Saitama prefecture

2004

Takemoto Yohki (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. established in China

2005

Takemoto Packaging Inc. established in the U.S.A.

Jay Tom Co., Ltd. established for taking over tube related business acquired from TOYAMA YOSEISYA Co., Ltd.

New headquarters building completed in Tokyo

2009

Acquisition of Jay Tom Co., Ltd., Jay-Tom Factory established

Plasco factory established in Kamifurano, Hokkaido

2010 – 2019

Becoming a publicly listed company; domestic and overseas business expansion

The company was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2014, and listed on the Frist Section in 2017. New overseas locations in Thailand, The Netherlands, China (Guangzhou), and India further accelerated the speed of overseas expansion. In Japan, new factories have been built and existing factories have been relocated, further strengthening sales activities in international markets and enhancing supply capacity.
